Once a week on The Lord’s Ranch all of us pray a rosary together. The best part of this rosary is that it is a child-led rosary. The children, ranging in age from 4-10, lead the whole thing including the names of the mysteries. They take turns leading the decades. Sometimes they get a little mixed up or they say a few less or more Hail Mary’s on the decade but that doesn’t matter.
I am sure Jesus and Mary smile down with great love while the enemy cowers away. The devil cannot stand the prayer and praises of children.
Psalm 8:2 says, “Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” (NIV translation) Another translation says, “Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have drawn a defense against your foes, to silence enemy and avenger.” (New American Bible).
Father Thomas used to share about the time when he was evangelizing in a park in Trinidad in the West Indies. This park was in a rough area of town and a lot of tough characters hung out there. A group of them gathered around Father Thomas and started yelling at him. It quickly escalated as they started waving their fists threatening to beat him up or kill him. Father kept on preaching but was getting worried as the angry group of about 30-40 men closed in on him.
Suddenly Mrs. Tula, one of the prayer warriors in our community who was on that trip as part of the team, gathered up the children she had been talking to in another part of the park, formed them into a circle and started marching around the outside of the furious men who were mobbed around Father Thomas. Mrs. Tula led the children in songs of praise to God, and around they marched circling the melee. At first, you couldn’t even hear the children over the yelling. But gradually their sweet voices lifted in praise to God penetrated the chaos, and the men stopped and listened. One by one, they gradually drifted away, the anger oozing out of them. Many hung their heads in shame and sheepishly sauntered off.
Children’s prayer silences the enemy. When they praise God in song or pray quietly from their heart, the enemy is silenced. No wonder the enemy works so hard to destroy the children in the womb.
So keep your children singing praises to God, praying the rosary, dancing for Jesus, praying in their own words. We don’t have to wait until they grow up. They are not only the future of the Church. They are the Church now. Their prayers are so pure and beautiful. Those prayers go right up to Jesus, and boy are they powerful!
God bless,

I love this, and I really believe in the power of prayer, and especially the prayers of innocent children. They need to know their prayers are powerful, they are little warriors, and we can be good models for them in this great time of need.
