One recent evening, I was sitting in the grotto at the Lord’s Ranch. It was about 5:15 pm. It was dusk and the sun was thinking about going down soon. I sat and prayed a while, and then it began: A symphony of birds!!
Most of the birds were hiding in trees, although they would fly in and out of the trees at times.
All around me were all kinds of birds singing. They had different tones and sounds, and it was loud. I started to laugh with joy, and then I closed my eyes to take in the beautiful symphony God was giving me at that time to enjoy.
They sang and sang. I sat there about 20 minutes as I enjoyed my personal symphony that God had sent me through his feathered creatures.
I still smile when I think about it. I left the grotto so happy as I praised God for such a beautiful concert! I continued to praise God that evening.
The sweet song of the birds led me to praise our Creator. “Thank you Lord for that great gift you gave me. Help me praise you spontaneously throughout the day.”
Praise the Lord from the earth, you creatures that crawl and fly. Young men and women, let them all praise the Lord’s name, for his name alone is exalted, majestic above earth and heaven.
Psalm 148: 7a, 10b, 12-13
God bless you!
