“Rules to aid us toward perceiving and then understanding… the various movements in the soul: the good movements that they may be received, and the bad that they may be rejected.”
Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, #313

Continuation of a series of talks I give on St. Ignatius of Loyola’s rules for discernment of spirits, drawing on Fr. Timothy Gallagher’s material as well as the actual rules from the Spiritual Exercises.

In this talk, we look at the action of the good spirit and the bad spirit on a person 1) moving away from God and from serious sin to serious sin, or 2) on a person moving toward God and trying to grow in holiness and leave serious sin behind.

Thanks again Ellen for this podcast. I was getting so my noisy thoughts earlier this morning about a male client I have as a caregiver. I ask in the name Jesus and the Holy Spirit to give me the right words to set boundaries w/ this client, or even if it means to change clients. Amen!
