We need to simplify Christmas. God is simple. Look at how he chose to be born — Mary was a simple girl. She married a simple carpenter. God announced the news first to humble shepherds.

Christmas should be about celebrating the birth of Jesus, Son of God. How did this simple birth grow into the commercial occasion that it is today?

We have to ask ourselves, “What would Jesus like? What birthday presents can I give to him this year?

Takeaways

About Mary Ann Halloran

I’m a wife, mom, grandma, and follower of Jesus. Besides homeschooling my kids for 30 years, I have been an active member of a lay missionary community that serves the poor. I love spending time with my family, playing with my grandkids, and drinking a hot cup of tea in front of our wood-burning stove in the winter.
