Lent is coming to an end. Next week is Holy Week. Have we grown in holiness? Have we gotten closer to God this Lent?
Sometimes holiness feels out of reach — like chasing a jackrabbit. We think we’ll never get there. That’s what the devil wants us to believe — that we will never become holy. But the Church says we are all called to holiness. It is not an option. The day you were baptized is the day you got enrolled in the school of holiness.
One way of defining what holiness is = knowing that God loves you and sharing that love with others.
In God’s school of holiness, He has a lesson plan each day for us. The textbooks He uses are:
- the people in our lives, and
- circumstances.
When we look at our challenges and problems in that light, they become easier to bear.
